NETWORKING MORNING FOR EXPATRIATES

According to 2001 Global Relocation Trends Survey Report, 87% of assignees involved in the survey have an accompanying partner. Before assignment 43% are employed, yet just 14% find work or want to find a work when overseas. It is far easier for the assignee him or herself to settle in to the new country because they have their social surroundings at work; normally the place of work is already familiar from previous business trips and visits to the company. If it is an inter company transfer the culture of the company is also very familiar, which makes settling-in process much quicker and easier. The settling-in problems arise with 'trailing spouses' who have to uproot themselves, leave their job and start all over again without the support network of friends and family. It is no surprise that the number one reason for foreign assignment failure remains spousal and familiar discontent.

To ease the spouses settling-in the new area and new life, it's important to help them to create their own social, non company dependent-environment with other people with the same circumstances as well as with locals.

To help spouses to settle in and to network TTH Relocation Managements is organising a coffee morning at New  Cavendish Club, 44 Great Cumberland Place, W1 for the expatriates and thier spouses on June 10th from 10.30 am to 1 pm. This will be a great opportunity for the expatriates to learn to know each other and also to get some more information about life as an expatriate and employment issues in the destination country. There will also be relocation specialists available to answer any questions.

The coffee morning is open to everyone so why not join us for a great networking event!
